A rare set of four high Aesthetic Movement walnut, ebonized, and parcel-gilt side chairs with carved griffins' head finials. An exceptional set with extensive incised gilded line and floral decoration throughout, including the stretchers.

Each chair is stamped R. Whytock & Co., Edinburgh under the seat (one shown in the final images). One chair is stamped with production number 4498 and the other three with 5142. The final image shows all six chairs currently available for sale. The matching pair is available here:
