Waring and Gillows

In the style of George Walton. A rare Glasgow-style Arts & Crafts oak wardrobe with a matching dressing table, combined with a well-balanced use of chequered inlays. They share an early type of see-through finish in a silvery lime-coloured wash allowing the beauty of the grain to shine through.

The wardrobe features a full-length original shaped and bevelled mirrored door, and four bow-fronted glass windows. Architectural tapering columns to each forward corner, the front inverts subtly towards the middle. The base includes a pair of deep drawers on a plinth base.

The dressing table has a full-length original bevelled swing mirror flanked by further bevelled mirrors, with twin drawers to each side and small storage or display areas below.

Wardrobe: Height 75 inches, width of cornice 66 inches, depth of cornice 25 inches. Dressing table height 65 1/2 inches, width 48 inches, depth 12 inches.
